Stop dropdowns and menus from closing on inspect

Navigate to your webpage and use the key combinations Command + Shift + C (on mac) or Ctrl Shift C (on windows).

Once the inspect menu is opened, use the key combinations Command + shift + P on mac

Type "focus" and click the "Emulate a focused page" option

Your dropdowns or menus should pause when you inspect them now
